And everyone did.\n\nIn those days, ICs (chips) came in metal can packages that looked like transistors but with several legs. Since it’s all that existed back then, the earliest Dyna Comps came with them. It is these earliest models equipped with the CA3080 IC that are most sought-after by collectors and are prized for their highly musical compression.\n\nMXR took this classic formula—vintage metal-can IC and all—and condensed it into mini pedal size. All the twang and spank you’d expect from a vintage “script” Dyna Comp lives on in the Dyna Comp Mini. The addition of an Attack pushbutton switch gives the Dyna Comp a longer attack for those juicy “pumping” sounds that some compressors can give you, but with distinct Dyna Comp flavor.\n\nThe MXR Dyna Comp Mini actually gives you more pedal in a smaller, much more pedalboard-friendly package, complete with the vintage IC that makes the original so desirable.
