　　這是爵士樂史的傳奇名盤，邁爾士戴維斯樂團在Prestige唱片的最後合約，名的「馬拉松錄」的成果之，一九五六，在五月十一日和十月二十六，狀況好的出奇的戴維斯和轉員們一起關在錄音室當中整整兩天，錄製了25首曲子，收錄在《Cookin’》、《Steamin’》、《Relaxin’》、及《Workin’》等唱片當，這些專輯，被爵土樂迷暱稱為「ING錄音」。

 

　　戴維斯在《Steamin’》專輯中加人弱音器的小喇叭吹奏，呈現一種人心魄的淒美質感。薩克斯風手約翰柯川（John Coltrane）演奏得熱烈火爆，和戴斯斯的冷靜恰成鮮明對比，形成強大的張力。鼓手菲利喬瓊斯（Philly Joe Jones)凶猛強悍的擊鼓，為音樂帶來了旺盛的生命力。《Steamin’》這幾張唱片是五零年代中期爵士樂的顛峰表現，見證了這個不世出的超級樂團組合為爵士樂迷所留下的美麗樂章
