1.本文物為臺灣植物同好會著《臺灣野生食用植物圖譜》，為臺灣農業會出版的第2號，該書介紹了100種臺灣野生食用植物，並分析植物各個可以料理的部位，同時評斷食品的品質，分為「優」、「良」、「可」及「不可」四個等級。當時正值太平洋戰爭末期，物資極為困乏竟然還有餘力出版一本野菜指南，或許真期待著當時的台灣子民在困難的環境裡，能靠著野菜指南，尋找生存的機會。此外，書中也呈現了日治時期植物學家對於食用植物的觀察及植物分布的資訊。2.臺灣植物同好會成立於昭和3年（1928），因體會人類對於周遭植物的漠不關心而成立，藉以親近與觀察植物，昭和18年（1943）開始臺灣野生食用植物的調查。
