成軍於 1973 年的「KC & The Sunshine Band 凱西與陽光樂團」，樂風包含Funk、R&B和Disco，曾經 9 次獲得葛萊美獎提名、3 次獲獎。團名中的「KC」指的是他們的團長兼主唱和鍵盤手「Harry Wayne Casey」，樂團在 1979 年以 " Please Don't Go " 拿到最後一次冠軍，接著「Harry Wayne Casey」出了車禍，復原之後，唱片公司已經結束營業，樂團也解散了。

「KC & The Sunshine Band」在Disco盛行的 70 年代以令人愉悅的 " Tropically Funky Dance Music " 紅遍全球，擁有多首暢銷曲，包括 " That's the Way (I Like It) " 、 " (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty " 、 " I'm Your Boogie Man " 、 " Keep It Comin' Love " 、 " Get Down Tonight " 、 " Boogie Shoes " 、 " Please Don't Go " 、 " Give It Up " ..等。
