徠卡於 1995 年重返中國市場，推出 M6 金龍機搭配 Summicron-M 50mm f/2 鏡頭，限量推出 300 台，首台編號爲 000/300 陳列在德國徠卡總廠的展覽館裡，而末台 300/300 則贈給中國攝影家協會永久珍藏。機頂與遮光罩都有龍與龍頭圖騰，皮革為蛇皮。
 
展示盒的設計參考中國過去使用的古董首飾盒，帶有一個舊中式的雙鎖銷。即使是身份驗證書也使用了舊式的輪式紙。這款 LEICA M6 金龍版相機機身最引人注目的兩個特色是人造革以及頂板上刻有龍形符號。
