越窯秘瓷刻荷口瓶，越窯唐代越窯青瓷已很精美，博得當時詩人的贊美，如，顏況“越泥似玉之甄”，許渾“越甄秋水澄”，皮日休“邢人與越人，皆能造瓷器，圓似月魂墮，輕如云魄起”，陸龜蒙“九秋風露越窯開，奪得千峰翠來”等。唐朝是越窯工藝最精湛時期，居全國之冠。越窯之名，最早見于唐代，越窯瓷青瓷與唐代的飲茶風尚關系十分密切，其瓷質造型，釉之美，深受飲茶者的喜。飲茶風尚又影響了越窯青瓷的形制。晚唐時期被稱作“秘瓷”，專供皇室使用，法門寺地宮出土的秘瓷印證了其工藝水平。
